Outside of her writing/administrative life Maria is an avid reader of both fiction and non fiction, has a passion for most sports (although this is is mainly watching not playing), enjoys a wander around galleries and museums and loves to take time mooching around Cambridge as if a visitor for the day.
Maria also enjoys volunteering and can be found welcoming visitors to the iconic, and extremely fascinating, Great St Mary's Church in Cambridge on a Saturday afternoon, several times a month.
Meeting and chatting to people from all over the world, as they visit the church, is something she enjoys very much.
